THE CHOCOLATE BEFORE THE CHOCOLATE BAR
Long before sugar and milk entered the picture, cacao was treasured in the Americas as a food of energy and celebration. Nibs are that original cacao: the whole bean, cracked into small pieces of about 2 to 4 millimeters, so you get everything the bean has to offer.
Cacao's flavanols are among the most studied plant compounds there are. In a human study, a flavanol-rich cacao drink supported healthy blood vessel function and blood flow within a couple of hours.² And in a 30-day placebo-controlled study, adults who had cacao polyphenols daily reported feeling calmer and more content.³
WILD HEIRLOOM CACAO, FAIRLY PAID
Arriba Nacional is one of the oldest and most prized cacao varieties in the world, known for its deep, floral chocolate flavor. Ours grows wild in Ecuador's volcanic soil on trees that have been producing for 40 to 80 years.
We pay the harvesters 3 to 4 times the fair trade price, because great cacao starts with the people who gather it. Our nibs are tested to be mycotoxin-free and tested for heavy metals, so you can enjoy them every day with confidence.
ANTIOXIDANT RICH
In lab analysis, cacao seeds delivered more antioxidant capacity and flavanols than blueberry, cranberry and pomegranate powders.¹
HEALTHY BLOOD FLOW
In a human study, a flavanol-rich cacao drink supported healthy blood vessel function and circulation within hours.²
A NATURAL MOOD LIFT
In a 30-day placebo-controlled study, adults taking cacao polyphenols daily felt calmer and more content.³
